CookCamp in the works!

CookCamp was born out of a conversation during a HealthCamp session in which we talked about prevention and behavior change (I presented Fresh Start as a framing device, but the conversation took off from there).

CookCamp will be held in the San Francisco Bay Area on February 24, 2007. It will follow the un-conference format, where we’ll bring together people from diverse backgrounds (health, technology, design, food, cooking, and more), mix them together over the course of one or more days, and share and learn from one another.

For this CookCamp we will focus less on food preparation (at least at the venue) and more on the issues surrounding food and cooking. But we will have healthy food to eat and hopefully a food prep demo or two.

Check out the Session Ideas list on the CookCamp wiki and spread the word about this event! The more people we can involve the better. While the CookCamp focus may seem a bit wide at the moment, it speaks of the ability of the participants to focus the event to their liking. If you don’t see something, or if you want to talk about something, put it on the list!

We’re also looking for sponsors, venues, and resources, so if you have any leads please add them to the wiki too.
