NY Food Museum
Ran across the NY Food Museum today. The site has a variety of content, including a history of food in New York and some interviews with a variety of people in the Lower East Side, such as chefs and restaurant owners.
One interesting project that’s slated for 2007 is called “Food on the Go”:
This exhibit has been on and off the Museum radar for several years. This bicycle-powered exhibit would travel around the City, investigating the economics, social indicators, employment issues and impact of food delivery, from pedestrian pizza delivery to grocery delivery in trucks. Our immediate goals are to develop partnerships with alternative transportation groups and other organizations working with issues related to food delivery.
The museum doesn’t have a permanent home just yet, but that’s the way they seem to like it for now.
